Printmaking

I started making prints in the 1970's when I was a student .For me it was love at first sight. There's something about peeling back a piece of paper from a plate, after it's been through a press, that is best described by the word, magic! No matter how many times I do it, the moment  the image is revealed is like no other. There it is,the birth of a picture, even if it's not quite right, it is still an exciting moment for me.

I like most forms of printing and they are an integral part of my work. I use printmaking in many different ways; some times as a sketch book, some times to further a theme I'm working on in my paintings and sometimes as stand alone ideas that are best expressed in a printmaking media.
